This folktronica collective based in Soho, London was founded by Mike Lindsay and Sam Genders in 2004 and features Ashley Bates, Phil Winter, Becky Jacobs, Martin Smith and Dave Lewis-Floyd. A wave of young bands and musicians effectively reclaimed, revived and reinvented UK folk music in the early noughties, with Tunng an important part of that manifold movement. Their twisted folk sound works electronica in with warm melodies to create an experimental pastoral pop which has had very positive responses from the media and the public.
